The Moray coastal villages of Cullen, Portsoy, Buckie and Banff are all a short drive away. With diverse places to visit such as the Boat Museum, glorious sandy beaches at Cullen and numerous galleries, there is sure to be something for everyone. The Castle Trail and the Whisky Trail which are close by are added bonuses to this unspoilt region. Skiing opportunities are available within one hour’s drive. This area has long been known to the fishing fraternity, with both river and local lochs, providing great sport. Some of the best fish in the world are landed in Buckie and Whitehills and are available to purchase on the quaysides – or you could sample a bowl of Cullen Skink, the local fish soup which is utterly delicious! The old market town of Huntly is eight miles away, providing shopping, eateries and entertainment. The Cairngorm National Park is within easy driving distance, as are the cities of Aberdeen and Inverness for alternative days out. This is a fully equipped self-catering Finnish log cabin with high quality fixtures and fittings and a wrap-around balcony, set in 2½ acres of private wood overlooking the River Deveron. |

Lodges: Just off a quiet lane in the Aberdeenshire countryside 3 miles from the attractive town of Banchory and 20 miles from Aberdeen, this spacious Scandinavian timber lodge offers exceptionally bright, airy and contemporary accommodation. Backing onto a pretty woodland and fenced river, the lodge is surrounded by parkland which is shared by a similar lodge, a luxury lodge and a small private caravan club site. The stylish comfortable interior features log walls and the living area has a cathedral ceiling. There are patio doors out to a deck with garden furniture. Full wheelchair access to all ground floor rooms. Banchory offers lovely shops and a good selection of pubs and restaurants while Aberdeen has all major facilities as well as a beautiful beach. Locally there are country walks, a golf course and driving range and good fishing. Royal Deeside is the perfect base for touring with many castles, historic buildings and distilleries within easy reach. 1 double with en suite shower room, 1 twin with access to the family bathroom, gallery accessed by spiral stair with single bed and single sofa bed, (cot and high chair available), well-appointed living/dining/kitchen, family bathroom (shower over bath). All electric. Fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, widescreen TV, DVD, video, CD player. Bed linen and towels are provided. |
