This is a lovely quiet site well situated for York and the surrounding area. The railway line that runs alongside the park is well shielded from sight and is a busy line but nothing you can't live with. We tried the local Chinese as recommended from previous comments and add that his is indeed a worthy contender for the best Chinese takeaway!!!

Ideally situated for York, about 7 miles to the Park and Ride. A quiet park, we have been going there for lots of years, and Andy and Tracey (the wardens) can't do enough for you, they are more like friends than wardens. There are lots of eating places in York, we liked in particular, Piano & Pitcher. Sit out on the deck and watch the boats go up and down the river Ouse. We also liked Ask restauarant in the old Assembly built c1730, the ambience of the interior is stunning. A nice Chinese take away or sit down right at the park entrance. There is also lots of places of interest to visit covering all tastes.

Good location for York and the Park and Ride could not be easier. Excellent Chinese at the entrance to the park with restaurant, bar and take away facility. The village is a short walk away which has a pub and village shop. Good base to explore the whole area in all directions.

Very quiet site, we had 2 children with us they enjoyed the swings they have for the children, and there is plenty of room to fly a kite..I would recommend that children do take other things to occupy themselves eg. bike, roller blades. The Chinese which is attached to the pub is very nice, one of the best Chinese meals we have had.. the banquet for 2 was enough for 2 adults and 2 children. We used the park and ride into York, which I would recommend even if just going to the Railway Museum as the bus stops outside, this is the cheapest way to go into York.

| This year will be the third year me and my partner have been to Tollerton Park. We are only young (18-21), and absolutely love it. It's lovely and quiet, and not too far to travel to get to York centre. The first year we went we stayed in the one of the caravans and was surprised at how lovely and clean it was, it was a really nice cosy caravan. The second year, and this year we will be staying in one of the lodges. The lodges are beautiful, and you are welcomed with flowers, chocolates and wine on arrival. Very cosy, the only problem we had was the spiders, but we soon sorted them! Next door to the park is a Cantonese which no words can describe how amazing the food is - we even crave the food at home! It is a beautiful walk into the little village and there is a small village shop for all the necessary bits you need e.g. bread, milk, although Asda is only around a 20 minute drive away. There is also a bus that comes through the village which you can catch to York centre, and is around 7 pound return for 2 adults.
PLACES RECOMMENDED TO GO:
York Castle Museum, only ?6.50 admission and you can go for free after that for up to a year.
Eden Camp - Brill day out and you can do a full day there, although i'd take a picnic as the food is expensive and didn't look that good.
There are many italian restaurants in york centre and all are beautiful.
Definately recommend to go here.

See above comment. Additionally, the atmosphere and surrouding village are quiet and peaceful leading to a really relaxing holiday. There is an excellent restuarant right next to the park and a well stocked village store nearby.

Tollerton is an ideal park if you're looking to "get away from the rat race" Because there are no entertainment facilities on the park, it is very peaceful. The Tollerton 2 Lodge is very good accommodation. The bedroom with the four poster is one of the biggest my wife and I have experienced and there is ample storage for your "bits & pieces!"

Tollerton Holiday Park is a small, friendly park and the park management are very approachable and friendly. The park is very well situated for visiting the moors or dales, the city of York is only 10 miles away and just eight miles down the A19 is one of the main park and ride sites (Rawcliff Bar). Staying here puts you one minute minute away from an excellent chinese restraunt, The Canton Station and the owner Chan, is extremely helpful and friendly. A ten minute walk puts you in the village of Tollerton which has the best country store I've ever been into. The Black Horse Pub is also very friendly being run by Dave and Judi. Just a short drive can find numerous good places to eat and the lovely town of Esingwold. In short if you want a holiday with loads of variety base yourself in Tollerton!

A nice, quiet park, a nice caravan and the pub in Tollerton does a very good meal. The people on site are very friendly and it is a nice and fairly short walk to the village and shop. York is about 10 miles away, we drove to the Park and Ride which eas easy to find.
