The Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum
Take an educational tour of the house where Ernest Hemingway lived and wrote his novel A Farewell to Arms. Many of the museum's 60-plus cats are said to be descendents of Hemingway's six-toed cat; accordingly, about half of the felines have extra toes. Learn about the legends and facts surrounding one of America's most prolific authors.


Heritage House Museum & Robert Frost Cottage
Experience true island hospitality during a visit to this splendid Caribbean Colonial House. Original furnishings, rare antiques, and unusual sea faring artifacts are among the treasures collected by seven generations of a notable Key West family. The leisurely tour ends in a romantic flowering garden where the Robert Frost cottage is located and recordings of his poetry can be heard.


Little White House
Former President Harry Truman's home, now a museum. Visit the most historical site in South Florida, the functioning White House of the United States, a fascinating & personal glimpse of the most important man of his time.


Audubon House & Tropical Centre
Although he did not have a home in Florida, John James Audubon spent time here. He captured the birds and wildlife of Florida through his realistic art. He is famous as an American naturalist, ornithologist and artist. The National Audubon Society was founded in his honour.Audubon House wasn't built until after the famous painter visited in the early 1800s, but has a nice collection of antiquities and historical anecdotes, plus simply fabulous gardens.


Key West Cemetery
the Key West Cemetery is one of the more enjoyable cemeteries in the country: tombstone epitaphs include 'I told you I was sick' and 'At least I know where he is sleeping tonight'.


Southernmost Point
The most famous photo-opportunity in town is at the corner of South and Whitehead Sts, a marker at the southernmost point of the continental United States that notes the distance to old Cold War rival Cuba. There are also souvenir stands and the occasional street performer.


Wreckers Museums
These museums commemorate 'wreckers', not to be confused with pirates. These government-licensed workers salvaged cargo from sinking or sunken ships.

Marathon
Marathon is a 10-mile-long island city at the midpoint of the Florida Keys island chain. Locals call their home "The heart of the Keys" for geographic reasons, but also to reflect the old-Keys lifestyle they enjoy among the spectacular fishing, diving, snorkeling and sailing.
