This camp site run by an Austrian family is located in picturesque Salzkammergut, the idyllic region whose praises have been sung around Salzburg in Austria, renowned for its beautiful mountains and crystal clear lakes. The camp site is located directly on the Wolfgangsee and has a gently sloping pebble beach down by the lake. The camping pitches have a unique location in the countryside of the Abersee spit, with beautiful views of the lake and the mountains all around. A wonderful spot for lovely walks and cycle rides, for example on the more than 100 km of traffic free cycle tracks of the 'Salzkammergut 10 lakes tour' with starting points at many places on the lake. But it can get tougher: there are official mountain bike paths with a total length of 120 km. This region is renowned for its lovely mountain landscapes and fresh mountain air. Local Area

The picturesque village of St. Gilgen (accessible by cog railway train) brings to mind the region's most famous inhabitant: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Salzburg city is just 30 km away.
If you want a day on the camp site you will find excellent amenities, such as a pizzeria/ice cream parlour, a sauna with solarium, a playground, a communal barbecue and much more. Before taking a long walk, it's a good idea to have breakfast in the guest house that belongs to the camp site. En route you should stop at one of the many Austrian coffee houses. Recommended: the genuine Sacher Torte.
