    Local Area

The heart of Wales, a diverse landscape of wild mountains and fertile river plains, dotted with friendly towns and secluded hamlets.

It’s the outstanding natural beauty of the countryside that draws nature lovers, walkers and cyclists staying in Powys. Red kites, Merlins and Peregrine falcons breed in the Cambrian Mountains, and at beautiful Lake Vyrnwy, one of the region’s loveliest man-made lakes, you’ll find a superb RSPB site as well as a huge range of activities, including water sports, climbing and quad biking.

The wonderfully varied terrain of the Brecon Beacons National Park is criss-crossed by ancient tracks and lanes, perfect for pony trekking, and keen walkers will head to the Offa’s Dyke long distance path.

History enthusiasts will be drawn to Powis Castle, a magnificent medieval fortress towering above its famous gardens and commanding glorious views over the valley. In the Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells, visitors can still sample the healing waters, and book lovers will be in heaven at Hay-on-Wye’s bookstores – there are more than 30 of them to explore.

Fantastic location and a fantastic complex. Staff extremely helpful had a wonderful break. Site very clean and relaxed. Highly recommend.

Excellent location had a really great time at the park. Would recommend to others. The room had everything we needed and more, much more spacious than thought it would be. The caves on site are worth a visit to and they offer you a discount. The photos on the website/brochure don't do the place justice. Will be going back next year!

I would recommend because of the lovely and comfortable accommodation and beautiful location. We will definitely be booking our next holiday through Hoseasons.

Great location for exploring the Brecon Beacons. Clean, well presented, self catering with added extras of swimming pool, tennis, table tennis, crazy golf in a low key way.

I would recommend this holiday for those wanting a quiet break in beautiful countryside surroundings. Good location for those who enjoy walking/hiking. Good facilities on site- games room, swimming pool, crazy golf, tennis court and gym. Great to get away from it all.

Good accommodation and friendly staff. Plenty to do on site, recommend the skiing which has a good instructor. Great walks from the site, something for all ages.

I would definitely recommend this park. This park was fantastic, and very well run - the best Hoseasons park I have ever stayed at. The reinvestment in the accommodation and furnishings and park setting is obvious! The staff were very friendly and were more than happy to help. The park is quiet and might not be to everyone?s taste but was perfect for my first holiday alone with my children, I felt at ease here. There were plenty of activities to suit all tastes within the park itself or within a short drive of the park.

A great location that?s spotlessly clean with helpful friendly staff. We will defiantly come back next year.

A very friendly service. Staff went out of their way to help us find local walks and lent us a OS map, very kind. Lovely touch of chocolates and wine on our arrival.

A great location for exploring the Brecon Beacons and surrounding area (second to none for visiting the Dinosaurs and Show Caves - my daughter couldn't believe she could see a stegosaurus from the living room window!) A very warm welcome and a high standard of accommodation (even a dishwasher which meant we felt like we had a proper holiday)

I first went to Dan-Yr-Ogof (Brecon Cottages) 23 years ago, the accommodation is second to none and each time I have returned there have been improvements and updating. The owners and staff always go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. It is outstanding in every way. A really relaxing holiday.

Reviewed by: Ms G - WALLASEY - Merseys Date of stay: 2011 Campsite Rating
The site is fantastic with plenty for the kids to do, it's small enough to let older children have some independence with all the outdoor facilities and the games room yet big enough not to be bumping into people all the time. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The accommodation and facilities are spotless. We have been for the last two years and will be going back again.

We would definitely recommend this holiday. Unspoilt, safe and quiet, we will definitely be going again!

Great location, very scenic, and accommodation much larger than expected. Very good value for money, this is the second year we have booked with Hoseasons and will probably do so again as they never seem to let us down.

Reviewed by: Ms R - Wigan - Lancashire Date of stay: 2011 Campsite Rating
Great facilities. Wonderful to be able to play table tennis, pool, tennis, mini golf and swim free of charge. Very cosy and a bottle of wine and chocolates when we arrived. We had a great time!

The cottages are well furnished, conveniently located, and in a wonderful quiet location with ample amenities.

Based in a lovely setting amongst the mountains, the lodges are clean, have all the basics you'll need and there are plenty of facilities to keep children (young and old) entertained.
